Are fruit smoothies healthy for breakfast?

Did you know there are smoothies that are healthy and taste good? Like actual smoothies, with fruits, veggies and other delicious ingredients that are perfect for breakfast or as a snack! We know, it seems like a treat, but somethings can taste that good and be that healthy. You can even make them as a smoothie bowl and eat with a spoon!

Smoothies are often a source of concentrated sugars and can leave you hungry just a few hours later. However, our smoothie options are jam packed with protein and leafy greens to keep you powered throughout your morning.

Breakfast can be a meal that we don’t allow ourselves to get the most out of. Some of us will pick up a sugary coffee and breakfast sandwich from Starbucks -“at least you’re eating you may think” - and others may skip breakfast all together. With our smoothies it takes just seconds to prepare, which is great for you, for your belly and for that energy you need to be awesome!

Why are fruit smoothies healthy for breakfast? Many fruits are high in antioxidants and filled with vitamins. Antioxidants promote healthy cells and help eliminate dangerous free radicals from your body. They help lower your risk of heart diseases, arthritis and even cancer. Not only do we have smoothies that are healthy and taste good, some options include veggies! Having veggies in smoothies is a good source of fiber, vitamins and even more antioxidants. Also, a fun little tid-bit: veggies are great at protecting your eye health!

Chia Seed Smoothies

One of our favorite smoothies is the Tropical & Greens Smoothie. We love this chia seed smoothie! Adding ingredients like chia seeds makes the consistency of the smoothie different, it adds some texture. But not only are we adding texture, we're adding more fiber, just two tablespoons of chia seeds contains 11 grams worth, and more antioxidants. Chia seeds are a superfood. They reduce appetite, weight and can help reduce blood sugar levels. They’re rich in omega-3 fatty acids, protein, calcium, phosphorus and zinc. (Omega-3 fatty acids are beneficial for cardiovascular health by reducing cholesterol and are hard to come across in most western diets.)

We want to make sure smoothies that are healthy and taste good are something we offer. Our goal is to help get your day started off with a serving of fruits and veggies!

Also for those coffee lovers out there, we have a smoothie just for you. Our Coffee & Dates Smoothie contains protein and coffee to kick start your day just right.
